JOVELYN GONZAGA JOINS ZUS COFFEE
Jovelyn Gonzaga has found a new home.
The 32-year-old opposite spiker has joined the youth-laden ZUS Coffee for the upcoming 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, as announced by the team on Tuesday. Gonzaga, a highly decorated player, brings with her an impressive list of accomplishments. Among her accolades are:
- **Shakey's V-League Season 10 Open Conference** – Most Valuable Player and Best Attacker
- **Shakey's V-League 11th Season Open Conference** – Finals Most Valuable Player
- **Shakey's V-League 11th Season Reinforced Open Conference** – Best Attacker
- **Shakey's V-League 12th Season Open Conference** – Best Opposite Spiker
- **Shakey's V-League 12th Season Collegiate Conference** – Best Opposite Spiker
- **Shakey's V-League 12th Season Reinforced Open Conference** – Most Valuable Player and Best Opposite Spiker
- **2016 Philippine Super Liga Invitational** – Most Valuable Player
- **2016 Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino** – Best Opposite Spiker
- **2016 Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix** – Best Opposite Spiker
- **2017 Philippine Super Liga Invitational** – Most Valuable Player
Gonzaga last played for Cignal during the 2024 All-Filipino Conference. Now, she will team up with standout rookie Thea Gagate to help the Thunderbelles aim for a stronger finish, following a winless campaign in the previous Reinforced Conference. ZUS Coffee head coach Jerry Yee is counting on Gonzaga to provide the valuable experience his young squad needs.
"Si Jovelyn ang magdadala ng experience sa team namin. 'Yun ang kailangan para makapag-compete sa PVL,” said Yee.
Gonzaga, on her part, is eager to embark on this new chapter with the Thunderbelles, playing alongside a young core that includes Cloanne Mondonedo, Gayle Pascual, Michelle Gamit, and Ypril Tapia.
“Siyempre, very excited sa bagong journey ko dito sa ZUS Coffee. Bagong adventure ito para sa akin. Excited na rin ako makasama yung mga batang teammates ko at makatulong sa kanilang development sa PVL,” shared Gonzaga.
