LETRAN KNIGHTS SECURE THRILLING DOUBLE OVERTIME WIN OVER SAN SEBASTIAN

Colegio de San Juan de Letran battled back to the win column in the NCAA Season 100 Seniors Basketball Tournament, defeating the San Sebastian Golden Stags 101-98 in a thrilling double overtime showdown on Tuesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

Deo Cuajao was the standout performer for the Knights, scoring 34 points and hitting seven three-pointers. His most crucial shot came with just 16 seconds remaining in the second overtime, as he drained a three-pointer to put Letran ahead by three points.

In a tense moment, San Sebastian's Tristan Felebrico had the chance to tie the game, but he missed a point-blank layup as time expired, securing the victory for Letran. Jimboy Estrada made an impactful return after serving a one-game suspension, contributing 30 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. This vital win not only ended the Knights' three-game losing streak but also improved their record to 7-6, momentarily placing them in solo third in the standings.

The match was filled with dramatic plays and missed opportunities. With Letran leading 77-74, San Sebastian's Paeng Are hit a clutch three-pointer with only three seconds left to force the game into overtime.

Both teams had chances to clinch the game in the first overtime, but Cuajao and Felebrico each split their free throws, pushing the contest into a second extra period.

Adding to the Knights' success, Kevin Santos delivered a strong performance, registering a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Looking to build on this hard-fought victory, the Letran Knights will face the JRU Heavy Bombers next on Sunday.
